Atlético Cartago represents both where we come from and where we are building.
THE NAME
The name Atlético Cartago comes from the founder’s birthplace of Cartago, Colombia. With no football club carrying that identity in the way he imagined, the name became a tribute to his roots and to the place his family comes from.
OUR HOME
Although inspired by Colombia, Atlético Cartago is proudly based in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The club was created to represent the city the founder calls home and to give players from Elizabeth and the surrounding community a place to compete, develop and be part of something meaningful.
OUR MISSION
Our goal is to give back to the community by creating a disciplined, competitive and supportive team environment for players who may not always have access to opportunity because of the cost and barriers within soccer.
Our long-term vision is to keep growing so Atlético Cartago can one day create opportunities for players of all ages.
